Decorating with Yellow - Part 2

Hello, yellow: A desire to downsize inspired Ann Nicholson to help a neglected North Carolina bungalow on Sunset Drive live up to its glowing name. See how a vivid imagination and pails of yellow paint made this house shine.

"Before" Exterior

Trees crowded the house, the veranda's railing was missing, and a lack of landscaping made the house unwelcoming.

To accentuate the bungalow's clean lines, a new porch railing was added, and the old roof was replaced with Authentic Roof faux slate. Tired aluminum siding was exchanged for prefinished James Hardie planking.

"Before" Interior
This wall was removed. The fireplace was relocated, its side shelves used for kitchen cabinetry.

Kitchen

An antique buffet, a statue, and a custom-built armoire for the refrigerator play down the kitchen's functionality.

APPLIANCES: SUB-ZERO, WOLF. TILE: GAINEY.

Sunshine-y Hallway

The refrain of a favorite Beatles song is repeated over doorways.
