The owner of this Vermont cabin hired friend and artist Melissa Barbieri to paint the master bedroom walls in a striped pattern that echoes a hand-painted wallpaper the two found. A favorite penny rug is displayed above the master bedroom's custom-made cherry bed, which is dressed with an antique blanket, shams, and throw pillows, all in red and white.
Fashion designer Tracy Reese created a "kitty cat room"—a snug loft space tucked above the stairs—for her upstate New York house. She painted the walls Benjamin Moore's Salmon Peach, then applied the brand’s Strawberry Shortcake-tinted acrylic glaze. The loft's linens are from the designer's now-defunct bedding line. "Vibrant sheets, pillows, and throws provide major bang for your buck, and are inexpensive to swap out when you're ready to move on," says Reese.
An antique runner from Budapest and a bench made by the owner's grandfather bring a sense of history to the upstairs hallway, which overlooks this Georgia home's great room. The doors are painted Red Rock by Benjamin Moore.
