The owners of this Arizona home teamed up with designer Kristin Alber to achieve a crisp look that can withstand the messiness of real life. In the dining area, custom armless wing chairs sport slipcovers of washable linen and tuck neatly beneath a pedestal table of reclaimed, already-weathered elm rather than fine mahogany. The chalkboard was cut and framed in a weathered wood to match. The walls here and throughout the house wear Exclusive Ivory by Dunn-Edwards, making touch-ups easy.
